WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley Club Women’s Ice Hockey Team (BWIHT) is looking for a new goalie to start the 2025-2026 season. A goalie is a critical member of a hockey roster. Without a goalie, there is fear that a team is no longer feasible for the future.
Amy Scali, the BWIHT’s goalie for four years, is a 2025 management graduate. Scali saves 90% of goals, with an average of 80 shots on net per game. “Amy is one of the hardest-working, resilient players I have ever coached. Combining her grit with her light-hearted personality to always find joy on the ice is something special. Her energy consistently uplifts the team and our culture,” shares Emily Barden, the BWIHT assistant coach. The team hopes to find a player of similar skill and positive attitude to join the roster.
Participating in collegiate club sports improves physical and mental health, builds time-management skills, furthers a passion, and allows life-long friendships and memories to be made within the team. “Playing hockey at Bentley has helped me branch out and meet some of my best friends while allowing me to continue playing my favorite sport,” Amy Scali, Bentley undergraduate and player, said. Amy recommends anyone interested in the position to try-out.
Women’s hockey is an expanding sport that shapes young girls and women into team players, athletes, and leaders. Barden is grateful to see women’s club hockey at schools where there was a lack of a program in the past. The team and coaches look forward to an upcoming season and continuous growth in women’s hockey.
