This season marked a historic achievement for the Bentley Equestrian Team, securing a record 3rd-place finish in Zone 1, Region 3. Since moving to Region 3 in 2023, the Bentley Equestrian Team has faced some of the state’s largest and well-established teams. Head Coach Tamara Johnston of Maplewood Farm praised the team’s progress, stating, “In such a short period, the Bentley team has climbed to third place out of twelve teams in a very competitive region. This is a testament to each rider’s hard work and dedication, and I am incredibly proud of their efforts.” Bentley Equestrian also had a record number of five riders qualify for the Regional Finals. Among them, freshman Adelina Arevalo achieved a remarkable 1st-place finish, qualifying her for Zone Finals.
At Zone Finals on April 6th, Adelina continued her impressive performance, winning 2nd place in her division. This second-place finish qualifies Adelina for the National Finals, held in Tryon, North Carolina, on May 2nd. Adelina’s qualification marks a significant milestone as she is the first rider from the team to advance to Nationals since their move to Region 3. Making it to Nationals freshman year is uncommon, and the entire team is immensely proud of her accomplishments. President and Captain Abby Ayotte emphasized the significance of Adelina’s achievement, saying, “Adelina’s qualification for nationals is not only a testament to her drive but also to the strength of our small team. Many large programs consistently send riders to Nationals, and Adelina standing alongside them is an incredibly big deal.”
