After two consecutive sold-out conferences, MassEnergize is hosting their latest non-profit gathering right here at Bentley, a gathering larger than ever before. Over 250 passionate climate leaders from all acrossMassachusetts are coming together on April 8, ready to inspire the masses and show just what impacts on our planet’s climate they managed to make.  

Anyone is welcome, so whether you’re a community organizer, climate volunteer, or curious student and staff, you can expect a day full of dynamic sessions, practical tools, and unmatched networking with people committed to speeding up local climate solutions, letting you leave with ideas you can actually put into practice.  

Why bother at all, you may be wondering. Isn’t plenty being done with climate action already? Well, Megan Sullivan, one of the presenters for this event, had this to say on the subject: “National and state policies set the direction, but progress happens when communities turn those goals into real projects. Local groups can make a real impact by helping residents electrify their homes, reduce waste, install solar, improve energy efficiency, and support climate-friendly policies. When these actions are multiplied across hundreds of communities, the impact is enormous.”  

Plenty of successful local initiatives will be covered, from energy coaching programs to municipal and 

geothermal projects to grassroots campaigns. Innovative approaches to communication will be covered too, between building partnerships with local businesses and work students are doing in schools, covering strategies to combat misinformation, and even using storytelling and climate fiction to inspire action.  

“What we hope people take away most is confidence — the confidence that local action matters, that change is possible, and that they are not working alone,” Sullivan said. The deadline for registration is March 27. Visit massenergize.org for more information.
